I was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, located in the southern part of Vietnam, where it is warm (and even hot) all year around and often has heavy rain during rainy season.
Natural disasters like floods and typhoons sometimes happen in the middle and northern regions of the country, but rarely reach the south.
In Japan, small earthquakes occur pretty often, and Ithink most peaple are used to them. Even though tyey are common, Japanese people always stay prepared in case stronger one comes.
In the past few weeks, typhoon Yagi has impacted northern Vietnam, bringing extremely heavy rains, strong winds. The typhoon caused damage to houses, infrastructure, and more seriously, resulted in loss of many lives, Peple from all over the Vietnam contributed donations, both large and small; volunteers and some NGOs also visited the affected areas, providing food, watter, clothing, and othe daily essential supplies to displaced people or those who were in need. I think these actions are beautiful, showing a powerful sense of solidarity and compasson throughout the country.
