Una de las preguntas muy comunes que me hacen es ¿por qué estoy estudiando en Hiroshima?. Desde el principio me interesó la Universidad de Hiroshima ya que es reconocida por ser una de las mejores en la formación en ciencias sociales en Japón pero también presentaba una oportunidad única estudiar y vivir en Hiroshima.
Hiroshima, es una ciudad donde se combina modernidad y tradición. Como sabrán, Hiroshima es muy conocida por ser una ciudad que fue devastada durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial y es muy interesante conocer el proceso de reconstrucción y paz por lo que atrae a muchos turistas sin importar la temporada. En Hiroshima encuentras una diversidad de atracciones, desde templos antiguos, museos, hermosos paisajes, numerosos ríos que rodean la ciudad. Además encuentras una gran variedad de comida exquisitas especialmente es muy popular el okonomiyaki, conocido por muchos como pizza japonesa o tortilla japonesa. Al mismo tiempo, en Hiroshima encontrarás dos importantes patrimonios de la Humanidad de la UNESCO: el san Santuario Itsukushima en la isla de Miyajima, y el segundo, Monumento de la Paz de la ciudad de Hiroshima demostrando su relevancia a nivel mundial como un punto de diversidad y cultura.
Como verán, razones sobran para venir a estudiar y vivir en Hiroshima, pero algo que quiero compartirles que me ha pasado constantemente cuando visitas Hiroshima, experimentarás muchas emociones y no es para menos si te encuentras en un lugar donde experimentas de primera mano la historia, especialmente experimentas una sensación de Paz, tranquilidad y compresión. Los locales son muy amables y aunque no sepas hablar el idioma ellos tratan de ayudarte. Definitivamente es un lugar muy especial donde no lo encuentras en otra parte del mundo.

One of the most common questions I get is: why am I studying in Hiroshima? From the beginning, I was interested in Hiroshima University because it is recognized as one of the best for social sciences education in Japan. Additionally, it presented a unique opportunity to study and live in Hiroshima.
Hiroshima is a city where modernity and tradition combine. As you may know, Hiroshima is well-known for being a city that was devastated during World War II, and it is fascinating to learn about the reconstruction and peace process, which attracts many tourists year-round. In Hiroshima, you will find a variety of attractions, including ancient temples, museums, beautiful landscapes, and numerous rivers that surround the city. Moreover, there is a wide variety of delicious food, with okonomiyaki being especially popular, often referred to as Japanese pizza or Japanese pancake.
At the same time, Hiroshima is home to two significant UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, highlighting its global importance as a place of diversity and culture.
As you can see, there are plenty of reasons to study and live in Hiroshima. One thing I want to share is that when you visit Hiroshima, you will experience many emotions. It's no wonder, considering you are in a place where you can experience history firsthand, especially a sense of peace, tranquility, and understanding. The locals are very friendly, and even if you don't speak the language, they try to help you. It is definitely a very special place that you won't find anywhere else in the world.
