From 64 applicants all over Japan, down to 12, and won 3rd(?) place was very unexpected. I thought I wouldn't even pass the first selection because I only had one week to prepare my application. In my speech I was talking about my struggles with dialect and how it really means to me. Not only that I could share my story of living in Japan, but I also got the chance to make many new friends and hear their amazing stories as well.
